SIRIN Development builds II stage of Kaunas Logistics Center, investments will exceed €30M
Industrial real estate developer SIRIN Development continues the development of Kaunas Logistics Center in Martinava village, next to the Vilnius-Kaunas highway.
After the completion the planned warehouse park will be one of the largest of its kind in Lithuania, with capacity for 60,000 sq m of logistics space on the 18ha site. The planned investments will exceed 30 million euros.
Excellent transport links: 15 minutes to Kaunas and 1 hour to Vilnius city center
The park is located next to the Vilnius-Kaunas highway, and just 7 km away from Kaunas international airport. Warehouse and distribution units will be available from 1,200 sq. m, aimed at national and international firms seeking Grade A warehouse space near the major transport links.
Ancillary office space, car and truck parking will form part of this 18-ha site. The goal is to attract both large and small companies. Particularly those in e-commerce, pharmaceutical and other industries which value good connectivity, availability of labor and are looking for proven distribution hubs.
Attention to sustainable and energy-saving solutions
Kaunas Logistics Center will be built to the highest environmental standards and will have a “Baltic Green Energy” certificate. It confirms that this logistics center uses electricity produced from renewable energy sources in its operations.
“The need for modern, Class A logistics centers with strategically convenient road connections and developed infrastructure is growing. The business counts each additional meter traveled and time spent on the road. We assess whether our tenants will find employees at the location or whether it will be convenient for them to work in the new premises. The increased e-commerce during the pandemic only highlighted these needs. We are glad that from the very beginning we chose a location near the main transport hubs and focused on convenient entrances, employee comfort and sustainable solutions that would save nature and utility costs”, notes Laurynas Kuzavas, CEO of SIRIN Development.
The warehouse will be equipped with energy-efficient LED lighting with motion sensors, EPS electric fire detectors and an ESFR sprinkler network, as well as other sustainable and cost-effective solutions.
II stage to be finished by mid-2021
At present, in the second stage of Kaunas Logistics Center, the preparatory groundwork has been completed and the foundations have been installed. First columns are scheduled to rise in November. The completion of the construction is planned for the second quarter of 2021.
The first stage of Kaunas Logistics Center, 24 thousand sq. m area warehouse with administrative premises, was completed in late 2019. After the completion of the second stage, Kaunas Logistics Center will increase the leasable area by 16 thousand. sq. m.
