One of the World’s Largest Laser Manufacturing Facilities to Be Established by Litilit in SIRIN Development Premises in Vilnius

Lithuanian startup Litilit will invest €6 million in the development of a serial and automated laser manufacturing facility in Vilnius.

“The facility being established in Lithuania will be one of the largest in the world in terms of femtosecond laser production capacity and will serve as a model that we plan to replicate in other regions together with international partners,” said Nikolajus Gavrilinas in a statement.

The approximately 4,000 sq. m facility will include a metalworking unit, as well as robotic laser assembly and testing lines. In its first year of operation, the company plans to produce up to 1,000 lasers annually, with capacity expected to increase to 3,000 units within a few years.

Gavrilinas also noted that multiple contractors will be involved in the project: “It would not be appropriate to name a single contractor, as there is no single party responsible for delivering the entire scope of the works.”

Earlier, BNS reported that the national development bank ILTE had granted an €8 million loan in April to support Litilit’s laser technology, based on next-generation ultrashort-pulse femtosecond laser systems.

According to Gavrilinas, these funds are allocated to the company’s research and development (R&D) activities.
